The United States may be a world power but as the United States is the third most populous country in the world which has lead to problems in relation to the population with the worst off regions usually having the largest populations. Areas with larger populations face more adversity than locations with a smaller population as public resources are stretched far less than in an area with a larger population such with common issues being the availability of police officers or ambulances to help deal with everyone in need at the time. In a lesser known problem caused by overpopulation “ In public education, 8 percent of schools exceed their capacities by more than 25 percent because of population increases.” showing how public education in the US has fallen to overpopulation. Such a problem for the population pales toward how further generations deal with an ever growing population.
As population growth has decreased the rate of growth is still a positive one which may show that overpopulation will no longer be a national problem but fail to take into account the people already here alongside with fact that people are living longer lives. While a decreasing rate of population growth will help in the long run a current solution to overpopulation in the nation is necessary to truly make an impact. Such an impact can come from learning about the difficulties which come from such a problem in our nation with a corrupt system in place which should be “informing youths about the staggering cost of parenthood, currently averaging out at $226,920 from cradle to graduation, should serve as highly effective reality checks.” as a show of how overpopulation is profited on by multiple groups in the United States. Thus, such a problem in the United States seems to go largely ignored in return for profit which needs to end.
